Halo Laser Treatment
Over your lifetime, your skin can become damaged by the sun, drinking, smoking, and other harmful external forces. Because of this, you may be left with discolored skin, unwanted signs of aging, scars, and enlarged pores.
A new and highly effective treatment option to reduce these effects is Halo Laser.
What is the Halo laser?
Halo is the first hybrid fractional laser. This is both an ablative and non-ablative treatment that essentially vaporizes tissue of the skin in order to reveal the new, fresh, and undamaged skin lying beneath while requiring minimal downtime and healing.
This form of laser treatment targets small pathways within the skin, leaving the surrounding areas untouched while simultaneously drilling tiny thermal injuries into the skin in order to stimulate new collagen and elastin production.
What does the Halo laser treat?
This treatment is used for a number of different ailments including wrinkles, sagging skin, scars, discoloration, enlarged pores, fine lines, rough skin texture, and uneven skin tones.
Halo is able to treat most skin types both on the face and on the body including the chest, neck, legs, arms, hands, and other scarred areas.
What can a patient expect during a treatment?
With the Halo Laser, patients will be much more comfortable than other similar treatment options. The qualified device operator may ask the patient questions about their lifestyle, experience in the sun, if they could have a few days of downtime, and more.
Then numbing cream may be applied to make the treatment more comfortable. After this has taken effect, the treatment will begin. Although not pain-free, the treatment itself won’t be intolerable as the operator moves the handheld device over the skin, focusing on troubled areas. Afterward, your skin may feel hot, like a sunburn.
What are side effects?
Since this is a hybrid laser, it has fewer side effects than many other similar treatment options. Just as with any skin resurfacing agent, there may be some side effects including, redness, swelling, itching, blistering, and possible infection if your skin is not care for properly after the treatment.
When can a patient expect to see results?
Because Halo Laser is a resurfacing treatment that works to stimulate collagen and elastin, results are not immediate. Following a 3-5 day recovery period, patients can expect more even skin tone, smoother texture, a reduction in discoloration, smaller pores, reduced acne scarring, and a brighter overall complexion with the best results visible 3-6 months post treatment as the collagen and elastic form.
