Psoriasis

psoriasis types

Psoriasis is a common condition that can affect the skin, hair (scalp), and nails. Though there is no cure, the condition can be treated and managed to help avoid triggers leading to flare ups. You are more likely to develop this disease if you have an immediate family member or a history of psoriasis within your family.

Symptoms include:

  • Scaly, red, irritated, itchy skin
  • Dry, thick, raised patches on skin

If you have been diagnosed, or if you think you may have psoriasis it’s important to use gentle skin care products.

Though there is no cure, this disease it can be managed and controlled. Corticosteroids can help to slow the growth of cells which can relive flaking and irritation.

Excimer lasers such as XTRAC® are highly effective in treating symptoms.
